About Newport Harbor Recovery

Newport Harbor Recovery exists to provide structured residential treatment for persons, ages eighteen and over, with alcohol and/or drug problems. Such problems may be of legal nature, family, or personal and indicate a need to learn a new way of life free of alcohol and drugs. Group and individual counseling sessions are available to educate and motivate clients to modify their behavior and thinking to achieve sobriety. The primary goal of Newport Harbor Recovery is to provide the foundation upon which a person may build a healthy and sober lifestyle.
During treatment at Newport Harbor Recovery, residents are expected to:
Abstain from the use of alcohol and drugs.
Follow the traditions of Newport Harbor Recovery.
Participate in AA and / or NA meetings and Newport Harbor Recovery sponsored Functions.
Obtain a sponsor in AA or NA.
Memorize the first Three Steps of AA or NA.
Through daily recovery group activities, clients will be educated in behavior modification, anger management, relapse prevention, communication skill, and education of the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics and Narcotics Anonymous. Transportation to and from AA / NA meetings is provided to foster a strong relationship with recovering people in the community.
NEWPORT HARBOR RECOVERY TRADITIONS
1) We, residents of Newport Harbor Recovery, agree to abstain from all mind-altering substances.
2) We are supportive of all residents in their personal recovery process.
3) We are considerate of our neighbors in the areas where we live.
4) We assume personal responsibility for getting up on time in the morning, making our beds and cleaning our rooms before leaving the house.
5) We respect the personal belongings and food of other residents, and agree that if uncertain about any item, that it is best left alone.
6) We agree to attend meetings and activities as scheduled unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
7) We acknowledge the importance of obtaining a sponsor to assist us in our quest for long term recovery. We agree to select and begin to work with a sponsor within seven days of admission to Newport Harbor Recovery.
8) We agree to participate in Newport Harbor Recovery, Alcoholics Anonymous and/or Narcotics Anonymous meetings and related events.
9) We practice common courtesy in all our affairs and refrain from verbal or physical abuse of other persons, in or out of Newport Harbor Recovery. We agree to treat all persons in a manner in which we, ourselves, would like to be treated.
10) We make suitable arrangements to meet our financial obligations to Newport Harbor Recovery.
